In India unlike other countries, children’s day is celebrated on 14th of November, which is the birthday of Jawaharlal Nehru, India’s first Prime Minister. The reason behind choosing this day to celebrate children’s day is that Jawaharlal Nehru was very much fond of children and children used to call him Chacha Nehru. Nehru loved children and saw the bright future of India in them. He used to compare children with buds in a garden since children are like buds who would grow up to be the next generation of India.
